- Finsbury Park Online.
- The meeting on 7 September 2010 at 7 p.m is being called by the communications committee of FinFuture.
FinFuture is the regeneration trust for the Finsbury Park area. It participates in , and actively seeks funding for, various regeneration projects within its "area of benefit". It has a good track record of raising funding and delivering improvements within Finsbury Park. It works actively with the three London Boroughs that divide this part of the city between them. These are Haringey, Islington and Hackney: each Borough nominates a councillor to sit on the FinFuture Board together with the other trustees who are chosen from and by, residents, businesses, and voluntary organisations. It manages FinSpace, a community resource near Finsbury Park Station, on Seven Sisters Road. The building contains office space, which is let at non commercial rates to voluntary, not for profit organisations. It also contains meeting rooms. The development of a "Finsbury Park Online" could be seen as a logical extension of this: provision of a virtual meeting space to compliment the physical meeting space of FinSpace, with its offices, meeting rooms, receptionist, notice-boards and literature racks. The Communications committee is a sub committee of the FinFuture Board, and acknowledges the debt it already owes to the various bloggers and bulletin board operators, who already operate in parts of the area of benefit, and who have partly inspired this initiative.
The current "area of benefit" is:-
In Islington: Finsbury Park, Tollington, and Highbury West council WardsIn Haringey: Stroud Green, Haringay (part - basically the southern half) Seven Sisters (small part - south west) Council wards.
In Hackney: Brownswood ward.
Participation in the meeting from people outside the area of benefit is welcome, the boundaries are intended as a guide, and to give focus. Not a wall. The meeting is at Fin Space
