This is to confirm that despite the industrial action on the tube, the meeting is going ahead as previously notified.

The communications committee of FinFuture invites all those with an interest in using social networks to improve communications between people and organisations in Finsbury Park to this meeting. We are particularly interested to hear from anyone already running a site, whether an Internet Forum, or a blog, in or near the area. We would also like to hear from anyone interested in setting up a site, or who would like to volunteer to contribute to one. We would like to hear from any voluntary organisations in the area with a web site, or considering having one. We would like to hear from anyone who produces a local newsletter of any kind -Tenants newsletter? parish magazine? and might wish to do this in electronic form. Or indeed anyone who is thinking of setting up such a newsletter. We would like to hear from anyone who would like to volunteer for such a project, by say writing for it, or being a moderator.

The two outcomes we are hoping to get from this meeting are:-

1. A directory, to be set up by FinFuture listing on a web page with click-able through links to all the online resources in the area. This would include council web sites, school websites, and your own local organisation whatever it may be. We think this, at least, is achievable with minimal resource.

2. Finding out whether a "Finsbury Park Online" is a good idea, and whether FinFuture should do it.

At the moment FPOnline is just an idea, this blog, and a yahoo group. It is not yet fully formed. Come and help us form it. It might be a network of independently run sites through out the area who agree to co-operate when this is useful, and who are all listed in the FinFuture guide. Or it might be a facility a bit like "Harringey Online" in which case the issue of how it related to existing sites would have to be explored carefully.

What we find out by holding this meeting will be reported to the FinFuture Board, which will then decide what action to take.
